WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman wants to see video technology introduced to aid officiating and avoid controversy in boxing. Sulaiman recalls the fight on August 30th 2019 between Charlie Edwards and Julio Cesar Martinez for the WBC Flyweight world title on the undercard of Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Luke Campbell. Edwards was stopped in the third round, however, the referee did not see an illegal blow which was landed by Martinez, but it became clear in the replay that Edwards was stopped by a shot whilst already on the floor. Sulaiman overturned the result to a no-contest after seeing the replay, resulting in Edwards retaining his title. Sulaiman wants to see this technology used in the undisputed world heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk on May 18th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. #WBC #TysonFury #FuryUsyk
