Philadelphia’s Thomas Velasquez looked to put on a show in front of his hometown fans and mentor—former World Champion Danny “Swift” Garcia—but South Bend, Indiana’s Tyrome Jones had other plans in the co-main event of the PBC on FS1 card on September 19, 2017 from the Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The two lightweights battled back and forth to a draw in their six-round affair as one judge ruled the bout 59-55 for each fighter and the third judged had it locked at 57-all. Velasquez (9-0-1, 5 KOs) attacked Jones' body from the start and stuck with that game plan throughout.
