Oyewala Omatoso (27-3, 21 KOs) faced Freddy Hernandez (34-8, 22 KOs) in Lancaster, CA on Friday, December 15 on PBC on FS1. In a fight up the welterweight ladder, these two fighters went all 10 rounds to a decision. Omatoso lead in the early rounds. He was found his distance first, leading him to land 1-2 punches, combinations and hooks through rounds 1 & 2. As the two fighters traded punches, it was Omatoso who found success early on. It took a few rounds for Hernandez to find his spacing, but starting round 4 he was able to find his distance. Hernandez found success landing his jabs and crosses and seemed to have an advantage midway through the fight. Omatoso found consistency in RD6 and that spilled over in to RD8.
