On May 11, 2019, unified 154-pound world champion "Swift" Jarrett Hurd put his titles on the line against top contender Julian "J-Rock" Williams. This fight was broadcast live on FOX from EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia as part of the Premier Boxing Champions series. As expected, Hurd came out slow, taking his time to adapt to Williams who wasted no time getting to work and landing hard shots, which Hurd took with ease. In round 2, Williams landed with a shot to the temple which temporarily sent Hurd to the canvas. Near the middle rounds, Hurd started to turn up the heat, but Williams' onslaught continued as well. As the fight progressed, Hurd became noticeably exhausted while Williams looked relaxed in charge. In the end, the judges awarded Williams with a unanimous decision victory (116-111, 115-112, 115-112).
