Once beaten Justin Pauldo went to battle against unbeaten Joshua Zuniga in a scheduled eight-round lightweight bout from the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, on May 26, 2018. The fight was broadcasted live on FS1 as a part of the Premier Boxing Champions series. Paulo opened up the first few rounds with strong combinations as Zuniga periodically offered a counter, but it wasn’t until the fourth round where Pauldo turned up the gas. Gaining control in the opening of the fifth round, Pauldo visited his arsenal while unleashing powerful right jabs and as a response Zuniga offered his best inside ring work. The pair wasted no time in bringing the action throughout their eight rounds, but Zuniga seemingly determined, still offered a connecting left and pressed forward as Pauldo continued to dominate up until close of the eighth-round.
